“Twice as Much”

Today I heard a phrase that I had not heard before. While having a conversation with a wise, more “mature” coworker, we started discussing why people have less patience and respect for each other. He told me the reason is that everybody wants to have a say about everything, but nobody wants to listen to anything. Then he said, “The reason we have two ears and one mouth is because we should listen twice as much as we talk.” Never heard that before, but I’m wiser for it! Thanks J-Dub from your “young brother”.
